What would you do or say?
by Butyoucanneverleave ina brother who is not baptized ( so there's still hope for him ) had a sister recently run into him at a store.
show wanted to know if he's going to the kingdom hall.
she asked him to write a letter for her to give to his mother ( who's deceased) in the paradise explaining why he didn't make it.

What Privileges do you get when you are baptized ?
by LOLS inmy husband was baptized at the recent 2018 convention in south africa ....... he was very annoyed that his non-believing wife did not attend the baptism....... but i think he received pressure from his jw father & elders as to why his wife was not attending ....... anyway ..... it's really water off my back .
i wanted to know what privileges you get as a baptized jw man , as i saw a message from one of the elders at his cong , congratulating him on his baptism and to earning more privileges ..... what are these privileges the elder is speaking about ,,,,, .
i don't feel like asking my husband as it just lands up in a stupid fight ..... or a long winded explanation ..... thanks .

i can never understand the marriage dynamic of husband being the dub and the wife not. usually the other way round. used to be called the opposed husband...although in most cases the husband wasnt opposed...just couldnt care less.
so you "opposed" wives---just remember who rules the roost at home--despite what the watchtower may like to say. "sitting on a gold mine" comes to mind.

God and the afterlife. Do you need to believe in both
by moley ini consider myself an atheist, i completely reject the idea of a totalitarian desert god/any god and the bible is a book of fairytales and folk legends.. i do however sort of believe that this life is not all there is.
i’m not talking about heaven or hell but in a tangible state of being.. there are a few experiences i’ve had in my llife.
could be imagined could be real.

Adding insult to injury when the WT kicks out a congregation from their hall
by nowwhat? innot only does the organization confiscate the hall the congregation owns.
but then the former congregants are told to continue to pay for utilities and they are still responsible for upkeep and maintenance.
so they still have to cut the grass etc.

Expected pain
by former2free inlast week was a big week for me in terms of coming totally clean to my wife and her being more than on board to leave the jw’s with me.
we know what to expect but things happen from family and it still hurts just as bad.
last night my wife got a long text message from her brother that has seemed to be in the fence and he told her that same guilt tripping rhetoric that the wt uses about life in the paradise etc.

why do people buy into this resurrection / 1000 years on a paradise earth fairy story ? is their real life that poor ? its all just a nice story cooked up by the watchtower society.
this life you have right now is the real deal--make the most of it.
as soon as you dump the god myth and walk away from the watchtower your life will only get better.

What was the EXACT exJW website you first visited and why EXACTLY did you visit it?
by ILoveTTATT2 ini had two episodes of visiting exjw websites:one time around 2007 when i just googled "jehovah´s witnesses" and dared to look at those sites.
i was scared and i promised myself i would never come back to them.
however, that one didn´t really count.the moment that woke me up was this:i got to know that whitney heichel was a jw and murdered by another jw, because i overheard that conversation in a kingdom hall.i looked up the news and in one of the news comments, there was one where an exjw was complaining that they were hijacking her funeral and they were really trying to downplay the fact that her murderer was a jw... and then it said "visit jwfacts.com"... which i did.and the rest... is history.what exactly got you onto an apostate website when you woke up?

i'm in the UK--and had no connection to the cult since 1981.
in about 2009 my jw dad mentioned my jw son had been d/fd. i was worried about him--because of shunning and loss of family / friends. i had had no contact with him since the mid 80's. no idea where he lived--anything.
i had no idea about ex jw or apostate websites--didnt know they existed.
then one day the UK Daily Mail newspaper published a big spread about the life of Rachel U******* and featured her website Ex JW Reunited. this is the site Amelia Ashton referred to in her reply earlier.
. i took a look--paid the fee and joined. found a whole list of other members, so started a thread about my D/F son--and his whereabouts. as i live on a small island i was surprised to find 2 other members who used to live here--and i knew them from years before.
very soon i was hooked on relating jw life stories--and getting to know some of the members. as Amelia mentioned--we organised get togethers and met lots of others who had totally changed their lives. Unfortunately the site got bombarded with spam--mostly porn sites---so the site owner Rachel closed it down.
some used to write on here, but have moved on. only Amelia, Nugget and myself still write on here.

Sisters handling mic's
by I Faded Twice ini saw a topic on another forum where a sister was supposedly carrying the mics.
i was curious if this was even possible?
is it new light or just a lie?.
-
stan livedeath
"I think it is incontrovertible that this is evidence of blatant phallus envy!
Form a judicial committee, STAT!
Especially if her microphone is longer or thicker than mine!!!"
you beat me to it there NN
do sisters have to be blindfolded and wear rubber gloves when they handle the mik?

Why not extend your child's life and take the consequences?
by I_love_Jeff injehovah's witnesses & blood transfusions.
if your son or daughter were badly burned, he or she would require regular whole blood transfusions.
as a good jehovah's witness, it is your duty to refuse this procedure and watch your child die instead.
-
stan livedeath
can you imagine the reaction if the watchtower introduced the " no blood transfusions " now ?
